The International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS) is the flagship conference of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS). The 45th IGARSS will be held in Brisbane, Australia, on 3-8 August 2025. The theme of IGARSS 2025 is One Earth, and the conference will address threats to Earth and promote collaborative global solutions using remote sensing technology.
NASA scientists will host a session at IGARSS titled "Synergistic Applications of VSWIR Hyperspectral and Thermal Infrared Data in Support of Future Earth Science Satellite Missions." This session will explore how fusing high spatial-resolution visible to shortwave infrared (VSWIR) and thermal infrared (TIR) data captured by space-based platforms and airborne campaigns strengthens Earth science research. The session also provides a forum for discussing development of algorithms that use VSWIR and TIR data for Earth science and applications, as well as synergistic use of VSWIR- and TIR-derived data products.
